Mobile Check Deposit lets users pay an invoice by check directly from the Pepper app, by photographing the check instead of dropping it off or mailing it in. Both restaurant users and distributor users can deposit checks, so payment can happen wherever the check changes hands.
Who can use Mobile Check Deposit
Mobile Check Deposit works for both restaurant users and distributor users:
A restaurant user can pay an open invoice by check from their own device.
A sales rep can deposit a check while visiting a customer.
A driver can deposit a check at the point of delivery.
Note: Mobile Check Deposit is available on the mobile app only.
How to deposit a check
Start a payment and select "Check" as the payment method.
Photograph the front of the check. The app detects the check automatically and runs a quality check on the image.
Photograph the back of the check.
Review the captured images. If either image is unclear, retake it before submitting.
Submit the payment.
Deposit a check or send a payment link from selected invoices (distributor users)
Distributor users can act on one or more invoices from a single screen.
Select one or more invoices.
Choose an action at the bottom of the screen:
"Pay" opens a payment flow using distributor payment methods, including paying by check with the camera capture described above.
"Copy payment link" copies a shareable payment link to send to the customer, the same as before.
Enabling Mobile Check Deposit
Mobile Check Deposit is off by default. To enable it for your business, contact your Pepper representative.
