The Settings tab controls where each product field's value comes from: your own catalog data, the Content Library, or a blend of both. These choices apply to every product you have not manually edited, and your manual edits always take priority over whatever you set here.
How content sources work
For any field you have not edited, Content Hub chooses the value based on the source preferences you set on this tab.
Your manual edits always win, regardless of these settings.
There is always a safety net. If a value exists in any source, you will not see a blank, even when your preferred source is empty for that product.
Settings apply across your whole catalog, including all divisions.
Product name
Choose how each product's name is displayed:
Your catalog name. The original name exactly as it appears in your data file.
Your catalog name (normalized). Your name cleaned up, with abbreviations expanded, spelling corrected, and units standardized. This is the default.
Your catalog name, SALT as fallback. Your name, using the standardized name only for products where your file has none.
SALT standardized name, your catalog as fallback. The standardized name where available, falling back to your catalog name.
Description
Choose how each product's description is displayed:
Your catalog description. Unchanged from your data file.
Your catalog description (normalized). Your description cleaned up.
Your normalized description + SALT. Your normalized description followed by the standardized one. This is the default.
Your catalog description + SALT. Your original description followed by the standardized one.
Your catalog description, SALT as fallback. Yours, using the standardized description only where you have none.
SALT standardized description, your catalog as fallback. The standardized description, falling back to yours.
GTIN
Always use your GTIN. Uses your catalog GTIN. Recommended when your GTINs are verified. This is the default.
Always use SALT GTIN. Always uses the Content Library's GTIN, regardless of your file.
Your GTIN, SALT as fallback. Uses your GTIN, and the library's where your file has none.
Images
Enable the image sources you want and drag to reorder them. The first enabled source that has an image for a product is the one shown:
ERP Synced Images. Product images from your ERP or catalog system.
Uploaded Images. Images you have uploaded yourself.
SALT Images. Standardized images from the Content Library.
Two more options control image behavior:
SALT as fallback only. Show Content Library images only for products where your own sources have no image.
Auto-append new source images. When your source data brings in new images, add them to your selection automatically. With this off, you are notified to review them yourself instead.
Fields you cannot change here
Brand and pack size always come from the Content Library's standardized values and are not configurable on this tab. You can still override either one on an individual product.
Matching confidence
The Settings tab also controls how confident a match must be before Content Hub acts on it. Two thresholds set this:
Direct Match confidence. Matches at or above this level are applied automatically, with no review needed.
Suggested Match confidence. Matches that fall below the direct level but at or above this level are sent to your review queue. Matches below it are not surfaced as suggestions.
Raising or lowering these changes how many matches you review by hand. For how the review queue works once matches reach it, see Reviewing and accepting matches.
Saving your choices
Make your selections and click Save. Your preferences apply to your catalog right away, for the products you have not manually edited.
Frequently asked questions
Do these settings change products I have already edited? No. Your manual edits always take priority. These settings only set the value for fields you have not edited.
Will I ever end up with a blank field? No. If a value exists in any source, Content Hub shows it as a safety net, even when your preferred source is empty for that product.
Why can't I choose a source for brand or pack size? Those always use the Content Library's standardized values. If you need a different value, override it on the individual product.
