In App: How To Use Offline Mode

Written by Pepper User

Offline Mode allows DSRs to continue working in the mobile App even without an internet connection. This is especially helpful for teams operating in environments with unreliable Wi-Fi or cellular service, such as kitchens, warehouses, or while on the road.

With Offline Mode, DSRs can:

  • Download order guides: Offline mode lets DSRs access order guides offline for easy reference.

  • Queue orders: After an order guide is synced for Offline Mode, DSRs can place orders as usual to add them to a queue. Once back online, they can submit these queued orders to the distributor.

  • Price edit: Offline Mode allows price adjustments if this functionality is enabled in the App, supporting accurate pricing in offline environments.

Interactive Demo

Click through the demo below or click here to see Offline Mode in action, which includes:

  • Syncing an account for offline mode

  • Adding an order to the queue

  • Placing the order when connection is reestablished

How Offline Mode Works

Data Sync Before Going Offline

When the App is connected to the internet, users can select accounts to sync their order guide data for Offline Mode. This can be done by clicking the download cloud icon, which is located in the account selector:

Adding Orders to the Queue While Offline

Once the accounts needed have been synced, users can view accounts available for Offline Mode where they can browse the order guide and build orders:

When they are ready to place an order, Queue order will show in place of the regular Place order button:

Once an internet connection is reestablished, the user can submit the orders from the queue.

Syncing When Back Online

Once the device reconnects to the internet, orders will show under the Pending orders (clock) icon. This can be found in the top right corner of the device screen:

The order will be sent to the distributor after it is placed from Pending orders:

Offline Mode Limitations

Some features require an active internet connection and are unavailable while offline, including:

  • Live chat

  • Real-time order tracking

  • Up-to-date inventory availability

Orders created offline are queued and only submitted to the distributor once the device reconnects.
