July Release Notes

What's New at Pepper - July 2026

Written by Tiffany Guo

Introducing Content Hub

Your product content is scattered across your ERP, supplier feeds, and Pepper's Content Library. Content Hub brings all of it into one place and lets you decide which source fills each field.

  • Matching: Content Hub links each of your products to the same product in the Content Library, weighing signals like GTIN, item name, and description. Confident matches apply on their own, and the rest come to you with a score for how sure the match is.

  • Comparing your data: See your data beside the Content Library's, field by field, with a completeness score for every product.

  • Editing a product: Fix a name, fill in nutrition, swap an image, or upload a spec sheet. Your edits take priority over everything else, and each field shows where its value comes from.

  • Bulk updates: Select a group of products and apply the same change in one pass.

  • AI images: Generate an image for a product that has none, or enhance one of your own by straightening it, removing the background, and sharpening it.

  • Display Preferences: Set source priority per field. Lead with your own product names and fall back to the Content Library, or give the library priority. Set it once and every match that lands afterward follows those rules.

Content Hub is rolling out to distributors in waves, reaching more accounts each week through the summer. Contact your Pepper rep to learn more!

Temporary Account Reassignment (Sales Hub)

Cover a rep who is out without moving their accounts. In PMC, go to Tools > Temporary Account Reassignment, click Add Coverage, then pick the rep going out, choose one or more reps to fill in, and set the dates.

The covering rep works those accounts alongside their own. The rep on leave stays the rep of record, so nothing has to be moved back when they return, and coverage ends on its own when the end date arrives.

The Coverage page lists every assignment and its status. Schedule coverage ahead, extend it, or end it early. The Past tab keeps a record of who covered which book and when.

Temporary Account Reassignment is available on request. Contact your Pepper rep to turn it on for your team.

Email Invoices on Every Update (Finance Hub)

A new per-customer toggle, Email invoice on update, sends customers an updated invoice email every time their invoice data changes, including after delivery. Previously Pepper only emailed invoices that arrived before the order's fulfillment date, so most customers never received one at all. The email always links to the latest invoice PDF and only sends when something actually changes, either a new invoice or a balance update.

For payments-enabled distributors, invoice emails now show Make Payment and View Invoice side by side, so customers can open the PDF right from the email.

Turn it on from the customer's page in PMC.

See Draft Orders in One Place (Sales Hub)

The Orders tab in Sales Portal now filters by Drafts, Placed, and Fulfilled, so reps can work the full picture of what is in flight from one screen.

Drafts covers carts started in Storefront and in rep order entry, which gives reps a way to catch unfinished orders while there is still time before cutoff. Opening a Storefront draft prompts the rep to switch to Storefront with that customer selected, and opening an order entry draft links straight to the order entry page. Placed shows orders placed within the selected date range, and Fulfilled shows orders with fulfillment dates in that range.

Reps can set a date range or leave it off to see everything. This is on by default for every distributor with the Orders tab enabled.

Bulk Send Pay by Link (Finance Hub)

On the Unpaid Invoices tab in PMC, the Charge all button is now a bulk actions menu with two options: Charge saved payment methods now and the new Bulk send pay by link. Select any customers, or select all, and send a secure payment link to every one of them in a single action. Each customer's payments-enabled users get the link by email and text, and a results summary confirms how many links went out. It pairs with the new no-payment-method filter so an AR team can find who they cannot charge directly and reach all of them at once.

Find Customers Without a Payment Method (Finance Hub)

A new Filter on the Unpaid Invoices tab narrows the list to customers with no payment method on file. This is the highest-leverage segment to work first, since adding a payment method is what unlocks autopay, pay by link, and bulk pay. The filter shows a badge when active, and clearing it restores the full view.

Exact Fee Pass-Through (Finance Hub)

Distributors who pass the transaction fee to customers now collect the full invoice subtotal to the cent. Pepper calculates the fee so that after Pepper's cut, the payout equals the invoice subtotal exactly, on every card transaction at any invoice size. This works in the app, on PMC direct charges and bulk invoice payments, and on payment links. PMC still displays the clean configured rate, and customers with a custom fee or a flat fee are unaffected.

Faster Order Entry and Accounts (Sales Hub)

Order entry and the accounts list load significantly faster. The accounts list now loads in under a second, and the slowest order entry cases drop from over 30 seconds to roughly 4. These improvements are live for all distributors.

Per-Terminal Payment Routing (Finance Hub)

Distributors with payment terminals at more than one location can now route each terminal's standalone payments to a specific account, so a walk-in payment records against the right location. A terminal without its own setting falls back to the existing supplier configuration, so nothing changes for current setups.

Hide the Fallback Invoice PDF (Finance Hub)

Distributors who send Pepper their own invoice PDFs can now hide the invoice PDF buttons when a custom PDF is missing, rather than showing a Pepper-generated one. With the setting on, the buttons come off invoice details, order details, and credit requests, and anyone arriving from a direct link sees an "Invoice unavailable, contact your distributor" state instead. Contact your Pepper rep to enable it.
